Maybe when they are able to give up their day jobs.....

I hope they are on the cusp and get the recognition that they deserve.

Does this men that they have now 'made it'. How do you know when you have 'made it' ?  ???

My definition of "made it" is when friends say "oh yeah, they're crap" or similar, as opposed to "who?" - it probably says more about my friends than anything else though!

I hope they are on the cusp and get the recognition that they deserve.

Ditto - I will drink to that  8)

Latest e-mail update:

Hi Folks

As we enter the sleepy summer months there are a few things to update you on from TPT HQ:

Summer gigs and autumn tour

The band will be playing a special show at a converted Cinema in Bridport (UK) in August 15th 2010. A town situated on the beautiful Jurassic coast of Dorset. This will be an extended set (Bruce has promised a few acoustic numbers as a one off treat).

Don’t forget you can then catch the band at the FREE Breda Barst Festival (Nertherlands) in September before embarking on the full European tour in October with Sun Domingo as support. Full details are as follows:

The new album has already outsold Tightly Unwound, so thanks to all of you who have supported the band along the way.  Hopefully we’ll see some of you in October…

The last Brucey Blog could be one of those! I'm not sure whether I can be arsed going to a Dutch gig ... there are a number of people on this forum seriously losing interest in what TPT may or may not be doing ... I'm not the only one!  ::)

As I consider you to be one of the few 'mainstays' of this fine Forum, Dave, your post has me, well ..... Frankly concerned. I know where you are coming from on this (and the other 2-3 posts you made in other threads), and I'm also seriously frustrated AND infuriatied at the general lack of information. I've / We've all touched on this before in the past, over a variety of threads, but I get the feeling that this time, it's a little different  :'(

Bruce DID warn us that he would be blogging MUCH less frequently, and as we can see, he is a man of his word. Maybe, when we see the new UK dates and hear the new EP in September, it will all seem like a storm in a TPT-cup, and all will be rosy again, but I just don't know  ::). I / We live in hope, but I DO know where you are coming from Dave  :-X  We've all waited long and weary for the guys to get some success, maybe we should cut them just a little bit more slack....one last time  :-\

Frankly negotiative  :-\  ::)

Edit: Mmmmm, it is a little disconcerting that Bruce hasn't been active on the Forum (under his pseudoname) since the 14th of June  ::)

Frankly distressed  :-X

The situation explains a number of 'missing' or less regular regulars, I'm afraid!  :-\

Eloquently put folks!

I must admit that if it wasn't for you guys being such a lovely bunch of people  :-*, I probably would have given up posting completely!  :'(  I do understand that people have busy times in their lives or circumstances that we may not be aware of but a few sentences every now and then.... Ah Bruce - go on, go on, go on.... Keith? Jon? Kitch?  :-[

I get the feeling that, yes, the Forum is being (to quote Mr Houx) 'Frankly Neglected'  :( I know Bruce never really posted on the Forum, but I KNOW he used to visit and read, if not daily, certainly regularly  :( Is he really THAT busy? Are we just being selfish? Is there just 'something else' going on? I don't know? But what I do know is that, at a time where, after the relative success of 'SHIM', the band should be exploiting EVERY avenue available, they are certainly not doing themselves any favours by being so quiet on their 'new' erm ... 'beyond jazz' website  >:(

Frankly pondering  ::)

Well, ultimately if Bruce wants to read the forum or not is his lookout, I guess... of course you don't have to logon to read the posts  ;)

It is fair to say, however, that since KScope, & in particular SHIM, the band seem to be endeavouring to do things 'differently'. I just hope there isn't a belief that being "professional" involves removing yourself from your fanbase somewhat. I think a drip-feed of information, even a little, if regularly, always serves to keep the punters interested. Look at SWHQ - even the godlike Mr Wilson manages to update his playlist every week or so, and there's usually a news item 3 or so times a month. It doesn't have to be a "first person" or heartfelt post (although that is nice!) just a little morsel of cheese to keep the mice coming back! In the days of easy dodgy downloading etc keeping a connection with the fans is increasingly important...

I guess we're just a bunch of demanding children  ::)  Having to entertain a bunch of those myself for the next 5 or so weeks I know the temptation to bury your head in the sand gets overwhelming at times! Plus, as someone has pointed out, there maybe things 'going on' of which we are unaware. Besides, we have  just had an email update, so...

Hmm, off to my sand now...  ;D
