Bruce Soord
Songwriter, vocals, guitar and keyboards

Founder and songwriter, Bruce Soord created The Pineapple Thief in 1999 with the solo studio albums, from Abducting  leading up to Ten Stories Down, the first recording as a full band.  Born in Germany before moving to England, Bruce began musical life with long time musical partner Neil Randall ('Vulgar Unicorn").  This collaboration produced three studio albums before Bruce embarked on The Pineapple Thief.  He is now based in the South West of England, where Bruce spends most of his time locked away in his studio, only venturing out for the occasional live performance...

Jon Sykes
Bass

Jon met Bruce while studying at Leicester University.  There they formed a raw three piece rock band, "Terminal Headspin" and toured the local area playing toilet after toilet for three years.  Now seasoned live performers and good friends, the chemistry shows.

Keith Harrison
Drums

Keith was introduced to Bruce via Wayne Higgins (as he also plays with Wayne's Radio Flyer).   Music is obviously in Keith's blood (he is the nephew of a certain Gentle Giant keyboard player) and with Jon Sykes form the back bone of The Thief.  He also enjoys winding Bruce up until he cries.

Steve Kitch
Keyboards

Steve originally met Bruce when the local studio called up asking to borrow his sampler for a band currently recording their album. The band turned out to be Vulgar Unicorn and Steve hung out for the rest of the sessions to help out on sequencing and sampling duties. Bruce and Steve remained good friends and regularly attend Pro Evo and booze nights. Steve mixed and co-produced 10 Stories Down and was asked to deputise for Matt on keyboards at the Summer Ends Festival in 2005. When Matt left, Steve was delighted to take over.

Previous band members...
Wayne Higgins
Guitar

The music scene in the south west is very close and it didn't take long for Wayne and Bruce's paths to cross at local venues and recording studios.  Previously a member of 'Ingo Star Cruiser',  Wayne enjoys life playing with his four piece guitar band (Radio Flyer).  He was the natural choice to fill in the second guitar spot.   The spirit of 'The Pineapple Thief' is to enjoy performing, with musicians who are also good friends...

Matt O'Leary
Keyboards

Matt and Bruce crossed paths in similar circumstances to everyone else getting to know each other through the local music scene.  First and foremost a bass player, Matt played with Wayne's 'Radio Flyer' as well as the critically acclaimed 'Ingo Star Cruiser'.   Matt is a good friend of all  in Pineapple Thief.
